Welcome to the LUO Lab
Welcome to the Laboratory of Genomic Diversity and Evolution at the School of Life Sciences, Peking University.
Species adapts to the varying environment via their phenotypic diversity as determined by genomic diversity. Understanding the genetic basis of evolution and adaptation is of tremendous importance for biodiversity conservation.
Our lab is dedicated to bridging the traditional fields of wildlife ecology and biogeography to the cutting-edge advances in molecular genetics, genomics and bioinformatics. Employing these powerful new tools we are aiming to describe the hierarchy of biodiversity, to reconstruct evolutionary and demographic patterns, and to answer basic and applied questions associated with mammalian adaptation, population structure, behavior, and systematic relationships.
